Leaving Las Vegas

Looks like I'll make it out alive. I don't really remember feeling this good leaving this town ever before. I'm pretty much all packed up and ready to go. I'm not still drunk, or too hung over. I actually got some sleep last night.

Look for more regular posting next week.

Maybe.

Whatever

So I said I would post yesterday, but I didn't. WHATEVER.

So last week I was in New Jersey getting some job training so i can work on some of the higher end studio/field production equipment. I had long days, followed by many beers at dinner every night and never really had anything I felt like posting, so I just didn't.

Saturday and Sunday were my last two days off for the rest of the month. Concert Mom was a bit upset that I didn't attend Easter Brunch, but I was busy shopping, and watching Ghostbusters and stuff.

I worked until about 7:20 last night, and will probably be here that late tonight and possibly tomorrow too. I have a super early (7 freaking AM) Thursday morning to Fabulous Las Vegas, where I will be spending the rest of the month here. Although I am not really looking forward to being in the desert for almost 2 weeks, I will get to see Drunk Steve's Baby, and chef Dusto's new house. I will have to fake nice to his wife, but I can do that for him.

The night I come back is the Cougars record release party. The Rockstar is currently rocking out the Fu-Manchu mustache these days. Following that show is Tapes 'N Tapes with The Wrens on Saturday (29).

Also upcoming is Concert Dad's birthday. Concert Mom is thinking of doing a surprise party for him. He'll just love that.

Greg Maddux is awesome. What a great game to watch last night. Also, love him or hate him, Pedro is incredible. 200-84 record. Only 2 others have a better 200 win record and both are legends in the Hall of Fame. Pedro seems to be on his way there too.

New guilty pleasure: What About Brian.

I'll try to update from Sin City, but I can't guarantee anything...

Back

I am back in the office for the next few days. I'll post something later since I know all 3 or 4 of you are dying to know what I have been up to.

Hell Yeah

Esteemed indie label Touch & Go will celebrate its 25th birthday with a Sept. 8-10 bash at the Hideout in its Chicago homebase. Twenty-five past and present Touch & Go acts will perform during the party, including Calexico, CocoRosie, Enon, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, Shellac, Pinback, Black Heart Procession and the original lineups of Didjits and Scratch Acid.

Proceeds from the shows will be donated to the Chicago-based Literacy Works, Tuesday's Child and the Thomas Drummond Elementary School.

If only the Jesus Lizard would consider reforming for this. Please.

Whatever

The state of this blog is currently boring. I haven't posted anything worthwhile in weeks.

and I don't care.

It is looking like I will be off tomorrow, then traveling to New Jersey for all of next week. Upon returning I will be doing my laundry and re-packing my stuff so I can then go to Las Vegas for the rest of the month.

I am not sure how much posting I'll be doing from now until May, or if i'll even return from Vegas alive.

Wish me luck.

May We Live Long And Die Out

Phasing out the human race by voluntarily ceasing to breed will allow Earth's biosphere to return to good health. Crowded conditions and resource shortages will improve as we become less dense.

CYHSY

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah was great last night. The Chad that played air guitar and danced like an idiot provided the group with countless laughs and mild mocking.

The band delivered with one of the more rocking sets of music I have seen this year. My only complaint about the music or band is that they didn't play 'Me And You Watson'.

Due to skipping the opening band of this all ages show we had to choose between seeing the band or hearing the band. We chose to stand upstairs to hear over seeing. I used to really like the Metro, the place does have pretty good sound and isn't too big but these days, and maybe it is because the last two shows I have been to there are the all ages variety; I really don't like it anymore.

Cool

On Wednesday (tomorrow) at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be:

01:02:03 04/05/06.

That won't ever happen again. (shut up for those of you who will say "what about 3006?")

You may now return to your normal stuff.

Finally

The Baseball Season is finally under way. That makes me happy.
