Sitting in the lobby is not fun.

Waiting for an hour sitting in the lobby is not fun.

Not having anything for me to do except wait in the lobby for an hour is not fun.

Having to drive out of the city after not having anything for me to do except wait in the lobby for an hour is not fun.

Having to drive back into the city after driving out of the city after not having anything for me to do except wait in the lobby for an hour is not fun.

Getting paid for all of that makes it OK.

Getting to the prize after work makes none of that matter at all.
