A Quick Trip Dowm Memory lane

I went through all this 17 years ago; last night was my youngest Concert Sister's 8th grade graduation ceremony. In Order to get to this event, I had to drive on roads I haven't been on in years, sparking many random memories along the way. Then it was over to the old High-School for the ceremony. An ex-girlfriends mom is a grade school teacher and was present so of course I ran into her. Thankfully neither of us brought up the subject of her daughter. I also saw many of my old teachers and school administrators. Some waved, and most were just flat out avoided. My other two sisters, my little brother and I did the wave when our siblings name was called and she got her diploma. By far the coolest celebration, others yelled things like 'woo' or rang cow bells. Then there was the call from Chef Dusto, he wasg outin Peotone to visit an old friend of ours. He was pretty pissed about being stuck out there with no car, and only a floor to sleep on during his only vacation home in 3+ years.

Next week, I get to do it all over again for my other sister's High-School Ceremony. Chef Dusto will be there for his brother’s grad. The date will be 06-06-06. I wonder what will happen. I hope it doesn't rain...

Also in the news in the fact that my radioactive tests from last week came back with 'abnormal results' whatever that means. I guess I'll find out tomorrow since my Dr. doesn't have Wednesday office hours. This has got to be notification of what my superpower is.

Hell Yeah! Finally, a Jesus Pan for all your Christly Cooking Needs.

Its Hot

High 80's outside, high 70's and humid in my office because the AC is broken. Again. It happens EVERY FUCKING YEAR here too.

5.25.2006

The New York Dolls totally RAWKD It for their soundstage appearance. Even without eating dinner or drinking even 1 beer during the concert, I had a really good time. So did Concert Sister. The VIP seating brought us right up close to the stage. Cameras were right near us, and the band was in fine fashion.

This morning I got up early, didn't eat breakfast or even have my morning coffee. Instead, I headed out to the hospital right near my office for a 'routine' UGI test. It wasn't bad, they didn't stick me with anything, but I did have to drink some horrible tasting concoction. I was told it was radioactive, so I am basically just sitting here waiting for my radioactive super powers to form. I'd rather it be something more along the lines of Spiderman, not The Hulk or Toxic Avenger. Stay Tuned folks, this is sure to get interesting!!

Punk Rock

Tonight Concert Sister and I are heading out to see the New York Dolls.

Awesome. I have 2 extra, free, VIP tickets for anyone interested.

Where's Bob Uecker?

Watching the 2006 Chicago Cubs play is currently like watching the 1989 movie 'Major League' but stopping about 40 minutes in.

What a nice weekend

Friday I went and bought myself a new memory foam pad for my bed. It is soooo nice.

Saturday, I cleaned and then went to see Tequila Red's son play baseball. Concert Sister joined us and we had a nice evening at the old ball park. After the game and a quick snuggling I headed home and promptly fell asleep on the couch for the rest of the evening. (Sorry Melmar, and Mr. Melmar)

Sunday included a trip to the Old Town Aquarium store and brought home some new fish, followed by watching some baseball on TV and then a trip to PetSmart for a second tank for the condo. In the evening I again fell asleep on the couch.

Today I go to the Dr. for some allergy med's then tomorrow is another trip to WLS and Wednesday is lunch with a friend.

How?

totally fucked by the Co-worker, again.

and he isn't even here this week.

5.18.2006

Perfect Example

So when I arrived at the office today, I cracked my car windows so it wouldn't get so hot in my car while it sits in the shadeless parking lot.

It just poured cats and dogs here for about 12 minutes.

By the time I realized it was raining, grabbed my keys, and the office umbrella and made it to the entrance to go out and shut the windows the rain had stopped, and the sun is now out.

I hope that's how the rest of today goes foe me, sunny and cool.

Cold Turkey??

Much like the heroin in my neighborhood, it is hard to quit the internet cold turkey.

I found my camera last night. Here is a picture of the fish tank. It is still a work in progress, and more plants are arriving soon.

MH- Although Z has won his last two starts, the only two wins in two weeks; I still don't put him in the same class as the top tier pitchers.

Good game last night, except WTF is J. Jones doing getting doubled off on 2nd for the third time? I was optimistic when he was signed to the team. So far, he has done nothing but suck it.

I got a gazillion things to do.

Russ Springer is the first pitcher to gain my total respect for actually plunking Bonds. Story here.

My sister is doing some Relay For Life stuff at her school. I don't know if it is a school project or what. But you can donate to her American Cancer Society fund here. Thanks.

Lockdown

I have decided to stop posting for now. I am quitting the internet.

To all my readers:

Thanks for caring enough to check this place in cyberspace and reading my meandering thoughts.

I won't be gone forever.

Good Bye.

I miss it when our feet touch

I haven't been up to much lately. Just working a lot, cleaning my place, purging stuff I never wear and buzzing my hair off.

It is looking like I'm going to have to miss the baseball game tomorrow. Two reasons for this; 1) I will probably be in my office at 7 o'clock tomorrow night and 2) I just can't go support this team. Sure I'll watch on TV and listen to the radio, but I can easily turn those off.

I bought some new plants, and a couple of aquatic animals for the tank. The tank is currently a work in progress. I would post a picture, but I have misplaced my camera.

Today, the co-worker leaves at lunch for a week long vacation.

Hopefully the week gets better as it goes along. Right now, things just don't feel right.

The Breakup, the movie I **starred** in this summer comes out on June 2.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there. In your hornor, I am wearing my I (heart) Hot Moms t-shirt. Let me tell you, Concert Mom was very amused.

Also, congratulations to a certain recent college grad that sometimes drunk dials me and leaves me funny messages.

This week, I'll be working a LOT, and catching my first Cubs game of this already miserable season.

Go Get Yer Face Rocked Off

Cougars are now on tour.

Drilling for oil

Not not off the coast of Florida or in the Alaskan wilderness. In a parking lot near you.

Please Don't Drill Me With That

This afternoon I will be paying a visit to the dentist. I think I have the start of a cavity, and I am hoping that she doesn't have to drill me.

I do get to leave work early and head home for lunch. After the dentist is a quick stop at the grocery store so I have what I need to make dinner tonight, and then I will try to catch the end of the Cubs game, hoping that Mr. Steroids doesn't get 714 against the Cubs.

Already?

It is May 10th. I have been in Chicago for approximately 4 nice days. My allergies are killing me. Already, for the second year in a row. I liked it when it was late July before they really kicked in. I want to pull my eyes out to itch behind them. I can breath. My head feels detached from my body.

Ugh, it is going to be a long summer.

my new favorite

daily blog.

Spanish Phrase of the Day

0 for 3

So sometimes I go to Dominick's for lunch. They have a decent deli counter and every 7th sandwich is free. Plus I can do some of my daily market style shopping while I am in there. There is a sweet little old crazy Asian lady who sometimes works at the sandwich counter. She has made my sandwich for me 3 times now. And has not given me the right sandwich 3 times now. I order a roast beef with horseradish sauce 98% of the time. I have gotten ham with olives, turkey/bacon club (which wasn't bad, but not at all what I ordered) and yesterday roast beef with pesto mayo.

She won't be making my sandwiches any more.

D'OH

So my secretary is back from her week long vacation in Mexico. I was just at her desk explaining how I wanted some paperwork typed up when I noticed a gift that was all wrapped up with a card and her name on it. I didn't think it was her birthday, but I was unsure so I asked "Is it your birthday already?" She said no, that was a gift from Herman in sales for Secretary's Day. Feeling like an ass for not even noticing, I asked her when that 'Holiday' was and she said it came and went while I was out in Las Vegas. I said: "Oh, that's right. Now I remember, I left the Co-worker in charge of that." This just happened right after I told her the story of last week's pizza order fiasco that he royally screwed up causing a minor office rift.

I'll but her lunch tomorrow.

The weekend Update.

My weekend included:

- Kicking The Roommates ass at the new baseball game for our Xbox.
- Finally seeing Episode 8 of the newest Soprano's season.
- Having breakfast with Tequila Red and her kids.
- Driving to MI to hunt for mushrooms with the above at the Tequila Parent ranch.
- Not eating any of the mushrooms.
- Having Tequila Shots with Tequila Dad.
- Not being scared at all by The Grudge.
- Sleeping later than everyone else and feeling like a bum for doing so.
- Saving Little O from falling into the River while hunting snails.
- Getting harassed by a 'Forest cop' for 'speeding', meanwhile there were kids running freely in the road, and teenagers throwing rocks at the wildlife and people 'cruzing' the road ways blaring their crappy music and constantly honking.
- seeing the following wildlife; snakes, turtles, frogs, woodpeckers, blue heron, and the elusive Indiana forest monkey otherwise know as the squirrel
- Clearly winning the radio game played while sitting in traffic.
- Not eating dinner.

All in all a great weekend spent with my Girlfriend and her family. I'm glad she included me.

My New Obsession

Mystrey Auctions on ebay.

I know, I'm dumb. I am wasting my money like NASA. I just can't help it.

I'll post next week to let you know what I have 'won'.

It's Coming

I really wanted to watch the Made For TV B- Movie about the upcoming avian flu pandemic that is inevitably heading our way last night on ABC. The roommate said "NO Effing way!!" so we watched the Bulls lose. They managed to keep it close until the 4th quarter, the only quarter that really matters in a NBA game anyway. Oh well, I'll have to grab it off the internets and put it on the ipod and watch it.

The last few nights have been filled with laundry, cleaning, purging old clothes, and Soprano's. Tonight I am going to whip up a quick taco dinner and head over to the Girlfriends place.

I get to go back to the WLS studio tomorrow morning. Something about a tracking issue, my guess is user error.

This weekend I am going mushroom hunting. I have only been mushroom hunting once before and that was for the psilocybin type. We didn't find any that time.

I really want to go see the Komodo Dragon over at The Shedd Aquarium. Funny, the last time I was there I had a pocket full of those psilocybin mushrooms. That was interesting. I think Concert Sister (1) and I are going to skip work one day and go.

Well, there you have it and pretty comprehensive update.

Here is the only picture I took while out in Las Vegas.

No Pants Friday!

So I just learned that not only is Friday Cinco de mayo, but it is also No Pants Day. I sure hope it warms up around here before then.

I'm Back

Finally. I am back in my office for the foreseeable future. Of course I have come back to some disarray. I will be writing a report later today about the status of the office. It isn't horrible, but still. I have a TON of crap to do. I guess that comes with being the Head Tech. and also being out of this office for about 3 weeks last month.

This weekend I caught The Wrens show. I was totally floored. I can't believe I never saw them before Saturday. I can say that I will NEVER miss another show they play here.

Other happenings of this weekend include Concert Dad's birfday, the return of the Egg in total working order, making dinner with my super awesome girlfriend, way too much traffic, my first and most likely last Absinthe experience, and a short confused trip to Jewel.

Well, I have a ton of other crap to type up today, so I am not going to wasted too much time posting here. I mean, my index fingers can only handle so much.
